SOPHIE'S
This is the
lake nearest the on-site facilities and has 20 well positioned pegs, all with easy access. The lake holds many features ranging
from Bullrushes between some pegs and close marginal features.
It is well stocked with Mirror and Common Carp up to double figures, plus Tench to over 2lbs, Roach and Rudd.
Favoured baits on this lake are sweetcorn and banded hard pellet - sometimes fished shallow. Paste also achieves excellent results in the warmer months.

MOLLY'S
The next pool with 21 pegs and similar depths and characteristics is Molly's. In addition to the Common and Mirror Carp, Molly's also has Ghost Carp to 12lb and skimmer Bream. Methods employed are similar to those on Sophie's - pellet, corn and paste. On both lakes sizeable fish can be taken close in by the bankside vegetation - especially in the warmer months.

PENNY'S This is the newest and largest lake at the fishery, boasting 40 excellent pegs. Depths range from 2-14 ft. on this Carp-only venue. The well-stocked water has Carp of all varieties, including specimens to double figures. Whilst offering a different challenge to the pleasure angler, the pool is also an excellent match venue. The long pole seems to produce most match weights, but the feeder/straight lead and the waggler can also give pleasing results. Bait requirements are pellet and corn at most times of the year. The third and oldest of the smaller lakes is Tilly's which offers depths up 12ft in the middle. This lake holds larger specimens for the specialist angler including Carp to 25lb, as well as Bream, Tench, Roach, Rudd and Chub to good sizes. |
